What started as a passion for craftin’ quickly grew into a full-fledged business built around craftsmanship and individuality. About The Maker
Ms. MoonShine
Most people have heard the saying, “a picture is worth a thousand words.” In that sense, I’ve always been a storyteller.
Both in the literal sense, as a photographer, and figuratively through my other creative pursuits, I enjoy finding ways to tell a story without necessarily spelling it out.
I’ve always been drawn to the unusual — the things with character, the things that make you stop and look twice, and the things that get better the more you live with them. Making allows me to take that fascination and turn it into something tangible.
Every piece starts with an idea, but where it ends up is part of the fun. Sometimes I know exactly what I want to make. Sometimes a material, a weird little detail, or a completely off-the-wall idea sends me in another direction.
There’s always a story to be told.
About The Method
"Make It Bougie"
Everyone has their way of doing things. I have the MoonShine Method.
For me, making something by hand means more than simply putting the pieces together. It means caring about how those pieces come together — including the details most people will never notice. Saddle-stitching, bound edges, linings, quality hardware, custom details... Because if we're going to make it, we might as well make it bougie.
No shortcuts. No mass production. The end result isn't meant to be babied. These pieces are made to be used. Carried. Worn. Loved. They should pick up scratches, develop patina, and collect a few stories along the way.
I can make something uniquely for you, but you have to make it yours.
About The Materials
Leather is leather, right?
Not Quite.
I believe the material should be just as remarkable as the craftsmanship. I work primarily with full-grain, premium leathers selected for their character, quality, and ability to stand up to a life well lived. From rugged American Bison and hardworking leathers from tanneries like SB Foot, Horween, and Tasman, to distinctive acid-washed hair-on-hides, every material brings its own personality to the finished piece.
No two hides are ever truly the same. Natural grain variations, scars, markings, color shifts, and other unique characteristics aren't flaws to be hidden; they're part of what makes leather special. With hair-on-hides especially, every piece is one of a kind by nature, meaning the piece you receive is genuinely yours and cannot be replicated.
I look for hides as unique as the people who will carry the products I make with them.
